ESN reportedly gundown military aircrafts as Army deploy troops in Orlu

Tension is building up in Orlu area of Imo State Thursday as the military has deployed hundreds of troops to the area in search of Eastern Security Network (ESN) operatives.

The military operation comes weeks after military personnel and armed ESN operatives clashed in the area with the latter overpowering the former.

Army spokesperson of the 34 artillery Brigade, Obinze, Owerri, Imo state, Babatunde Zubairu, who confirmed the operation to Punch Newspapers, said the locals were not being harassed.

Video clips trending on social media Thursday showed military aircrafts hovering around Orlu senatorial district although they were reportedly shot on Sunday, February 14, 2021, according to Nicholas Ibekwe of Premium Times.

Local sources who confided on TODAY POLITICS Thursday evening said two military aircrafts have been gunned down by men of the ESN owned by the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB).

The source who hails from Nwangele area of the senatorial zone said the aircrafts were gunned down separately in forests he refused to disclose the location for security reasons.
