By denying the existence of the Coronavirus disease, the governor of Kogi State Yahaya Bello is safeguarding the economy of the state.

Mathew Kolawole, speaker of the state house of assembly made the above assertion yesterday while receiving an award from the Correspondents Chapel of the Kwara Council of the NUJ in Illorin.

The governor has since been doubting the existence of the pandemic disease which originated from China in 2019. Recently he advised Nigerians against taking a vaccine discovered by scientists to checkmate the escalation of the transmissible disease.

“It is not that the governor is not accepting the fact that there is a virus called Covid-19,” Mr Kolawole said.

“He just wants us to know it is an advancement of malaria which is not really a big deal.
