Using english to warn bandits fruitless, try local language, Shehu Sani tells Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari has been advised to stop issuing stern warnings to bandits using english language.

While condemning banditry on the rise in Northern Nigeria, Mr Buhari has repeatedly warned bandits against continuing to terrorise residents but the criminals have not only continued but have increased the tempo by going after school children whom they abduct in exchange for ransom.

School children in Zamfara, Niger and Kaduna states have been abducted since the year began.

Advising the president to adopt local language in issuing his warnings henceforth, Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker said those issued in english have so far been fruitless.

“All warnings issued to the Bandits should be made in the local language they can understand,” Mr Sani suggested on Twitter Sunday evening, adding that, “Warning them in English is so far futile.
