Igboho returns to Nigeria

Sunday Adeyemo, Yoruba secessionist leader, has returned to Nigeria.

A video clip trending on social media on Thursday shows Mr Adeyemo, popularity known as Igboho, waving and acknowledging cheers from residents of his community in Oyo state.

A statement by his spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, confirmed the development, saying Igboho returned to bid his late mother, who died while he was incarcerated in Benin Republic, farewell.

The secessionist fled Nigeria to the West African country after clashing with operatives of the State Security Services (SSS) in 2021 but was arrested while awaiting a connecting flight to Germany.

Authorities in that country charged him for associating with criminals, before he later regained his freedom last year.
