Kano Is For PDP – Kwankwaso

Rabiu Kwankwaso, lawmaker representing Kano Central at the Senate has said the state is for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mr Kwankwaso, a former governor of the state, made the declaration on Sunday at the presidential rally of the PDP which held at the Sani Abacha stadium.

The lawmaker was among the state governors of the then ruling PDP who dumped the party in 2015 and went for the then opposition All Progressive Congress (APC).

On decamping to the APC, Kwankwaso delivered over 1.9million votes to the APC which won the presidential election.

Last year, he returned to the now opposition PDP and has been leading the campaign train of the party in the North West region especially Kano State. His political movement is also known as Kwankwasiyya.

“Today, Kano people and particularly, the youths have shown that Kano is for PDP and Kwankwasiyya,” Kwankwaso said.

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the PDP who was in the state to campaign for votes in the morning could not make it to the venue until in the evening due massive crowds who thronged out to receive him.

On arriving at the campaign venue, Mr Abubakar urged the people to vote all candidates of the party to move the state forward.

“Are you going to vote for PDP? If you vote for PDP from top to bottom and bottom to top, PDP government will revitalize business and the moribund industries in Kano. We will also boost agriculture,” the former vice president popularly known as Atiku said.

“I will ensure that among my priorities would be the revitalization of agriculture, industries and commercial activities so as to boost the economy which has been killed by the APC government,” he added.
