The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced dates for the governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states.
The electoral body made the announcement during a press briefing on Thursday at its national headquarters, Abuja.
The commission fixed September 19 for the governorship election in Edo State while that of Ondo is scheduled to hold on October 10.
In Edo, primaries of political parties are expected to begin from June 2 and end on June 27, while that of Ondo begins from July 2 ending on July 25.
Meanwhile, the electoral body has retained 18 political parties and has deregistered 74 others for failing to meet the constitutional requirements of operations.
