I can never join your party, Fayose replies APC

Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, has told the All Progressive Congress (APC) that he will never join the party.

Mr Fayose stated this while responding to the claim of the ruling party in Ekiti that he threatened to join them if his candidate failed to emerge the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

The APC also said judging by his past antecedents, Fayose who left office in 2018, is not qualified to join its fold. TODAY POLITICS recalls that during his days as Ekiti governor, the PDP chieftain had spearheaded attacks on the APC and its candidate even before the party took over power at the national level in 2015.

But dismissing the threat said to have been made by the former governor, Lere Olayinka, media aide to Fayose, said his principal will never join the APC considering his pedigree.

“Someone of the status and pedigree of Fayose can never join APC,” Mr Olayinka said in a statement on Friday.

“It is funny that APC lied about Fayose coming to join the party and also went further to react to its own lies,” he added.
