Fani-Kayode, Melaye trade insults on Facebook

Former Aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode and former Kogi West lawmaker, Dino Melaye on Tuesday traded insults at each other.

While Mr Fani-Kayode is a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Mr Melaye is from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Trouble began after the former minister recently called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to suspend Iyorchia Ayu, helmsman of the PDP and arrest of the former lawmaker for revealing that the election that installed Mr Ayu as national chairman was marred with fraud.

The senator responded by describing as the remarks of Fani-Kayode as “an incoherent gibberish produced from his temporary relief from insanity.”

The war of words continued until on Tuesday when the ex-minister posted a photo of his jibe-partner drinking garri, a granular flour made from cassava, on Facebook, calling him a clown. The PDP chief replied and explained that he posted the photo online and that he has never hidden the fact that he is from a poor background.

“FFK l posted this picture myself in 2010 as a member of House of Reps showing how much l like garri Ijebu,” Melaye explained on Facebook.

Minutes after the response, the Senator posted a ridiculous video clip of himself and some of his aides appealing to him to invite Fani-Kayode for a dinner to which he rejected, saying: “No!!! I’m not going to bankroll anybody o.”

Two hours later, the former minister also showcased his ludicrous comic relief skills in a fifty-five seconds video clip uploaded on the social networking platform, directing his security aides not to allow Melaye – whom he described as a gay that finds buttocks of men appealing – access to his domain.

Mixed reactions trailed their altercation with most Nigerians describing their conducts as being childish.
