President Muhammadu Buhari has been asked to deal with terrorists decisively or step down from office.

Salihu Yakasai, an aide to Kano State governor, Umar Ganduje, gave the charge while reacting to the recent abduction of schoolgirls in Zamfara State on Friday.

Mr Yakasai, previously suspended for criticising the president and his administration, re-echoed his submission that the All Progressive Congress (APC) led federal government has failed to secure Nigerians.

Clearly, we as APC government, at all levels, have failed Nigerians in the number one duty we were elected to do, which is to secure lives and properties,” Mr. Yakassai said.

“Not a single day goes by without some sort of insecurity in this land. This is a shame! Deal with terrorists decisively or resign,” he added.

Kidnapping of school children seems to be the new normal largely in Northern Nigeria, a development Information Minister, Lai Mohammed, said also occurs even in advanced countries.

“Even in the most developed countries in the world, school kidnappings take place,” Mr. Mohammed said in an interview on Channels Television earlier in the week.
