COVID-19: Imo records first case as Nigeria confirms 87 fresh cases

Imo State has recorded its first Coronavirus disease infection, according to data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The disease agency also announced the confirmation of 87 fresh cases nationwide Saturday evening.

The new figure brings the total number of infection in the country to 1182 out of which 222 patients have recovered while the death toll increased to 35.

33 fresh infections of the disease that has so far affected 29 states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were discovered in Lagos, 18 in Borno, 12 in Osun, 9 in Katsina, Kano and Ekiti had 4 cases each, Edo and Bauchi 3 cases respectively while Imo recorded its index case.

One case who was confirmed in Lagos State, traveled to Ondo State for treatment.

Therefore, the number of cases in Lagos is 689 and the number of cases in Ondo is 4.
