Channels Television’s journalists arrested over interview revealing sponsors of Boko Haram

Two journalists of Channels Television has been arrested over a recent interview of a former naval officer Kunle Olawunmi.

Mr Olawunmi, who appeared in an early morning interview on Wednesday, revealed that sponsors of Boko Haram terrorists are presently state governors, lawmakers and ministers in the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

Although he did not mention names, he alleged that he interrogated a high ranking member of the present administration between 2007 and 2008 and found the official culpable of sponsoring the terror group.

Early Thursday morning, rumors went out that the Department of State Services DSS) has been ordered by Mr Buhari to arrest the two journalists.

The arrest of Chambalain Usor and Kayode Okikiolu was confirmed by Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker who condemned the arrest, saying they were not responsible for the comments of the intelligence chief the duo interviewed.

“A Journalist can only ask questions,he or she can’t be held responsible for the answers or the truths or facts contained in the answers,” Mr Sani tweeted Thursday afternoon. “The arrest of the
