Buhari regime to sanction foreign airlines selling tickets in dollars

The President Muhammadu Buhari administration has threatened to sanction foreign airlines who have refused to accept naira payment for flight tickets.

Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, announced this on Wednesday in Abuja at the end of the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

Citing intelligence reports, Mr Sirika said the foreign airlines have resorted to selling their ticket fares in dollars, an act he said violated Nigerian laws.

He announced that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has been mandated to penalize any of such airlines caught henceforth.
