Senator Andy Uba has emerged the winner of the June 26 primary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the Anambra governorship election.
Mr Uba, according to the chairman of the APC primary election panel and governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, polled 230,201 votes of the total 348,490 votes cast.
Mr Abiodun who announced the result at Golden Tulip Hotel, Agulu Lake, Awka, early on Sunday said the winner defeated 13 other aspirants to emerge the party’s governorship candidate in the coming November 6 election.
This is despite calls by 11 of the aspirants demanding the cancellation of the exercise and a fresh primary, a stance also adopted by Minister Chris Ngige of Labour and Employment Ministry.
