681 new COVID-19 cases reported in Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced the confirmation of 681 fresh cases of Coronavirus disease in the country.

The new confirmed figure is the highest daily figure ever announced since the pandemic disease broke out in February in the country. While 5 deaths occurred in the last 24 hours, 143 patients recovered from the deadly virus within the time frame.

With the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections in 35 states and the Federal Capital Territory stands at 14,554 out of which 4,494 have been discharged while the death toll increased to 387.

The 681 new cases are reported from 17 states- Lagos(345), Rivers(51), Ogun(48), Gombe(47), Oyo(36), Imo(31), Delta(28), Kano(23), Bauchi(18), Edo(12), Katsina(12), Kaduna(9), Anambra( 7), Jigawa(5), Kebbi(4), Ondo(4) and Nasarawa(1).

While 85, 375 samples have been tested, 9,673 are currently active cases nationwide.
