Two bandits have reportedly been killed after their attempt to abduct four women in Chikun local government area of Kaduna State failed.
The criminals met their waterloo when troops attached to Operation Thunder Strike at ‘five-thirty’ village intercepted their operation, forcing other members of the gang apparently wounded after a gun duel to flee, leaving behind their captives.
The soldiers acted in response to a distress call, Samuel Aruwan, the state commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs said in a Tuesday statement.
“After the skirmish, the corpses of two bandits were recovered, while the others escaped with possible gunshot wounds,” Mr. Aruwan said.
However, the commissioner further disclosed that a soldier sustained a gunshot wound and is recuperating.
