Tinubu suspends Halima Shehu as NSIPA CEO, appoints replacement

The National Coordinator and CEO of the National Social Investment Program Agency (NSIPA) Halima Shehu, has been suspended by President Bola Tinubu.

The suspension of Ms Shehu comes barely three months after her appointment into the position was confirmed by the Nigerian Senate.

Before her appointment, she worked as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme and had previously served with the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development. That was between 2017 and 2022.

Channels TV reports that the president also approved the appointment of Akindele Egbuwalo, the national N-Power programme manager, to replace Shehu in acting capacity, pending the conclusion of investigation of alleged financial malfeasance against her.
