Bola Tinubu, presidential aspirant and former Lagos governor, is currently meeting behind closed doors with state governors of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abuja.
The meeting comes hours after the state helmsmen met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who informed them of his interest to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in office.
Mr Osinbajo met with the governors Sunday night and on Monday morning, he officially joined the presidential race which his benefactor, Mr Tinubu, is also in.
The meeting between Mr Tinubu and the governors is reportedly taking place at the Kebbi State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja and its outcome is yet unknown.
Already, Mr Osinbajo is been advised, by a chieftain of the ruling party, to withdraw from the race and respect the political ambition of his former boss.
