The call by President Muhammadu Buhari for Nigerians to hard work and persevere has generated reactions.
Mr Buhari on Thursday morning called on Nigerians to work hard and live within their means of livelihood.
“It is understandable that we all want to live comfortable lives,” the president said in a tweet.
“It is also important to realize that the most comfortable thing we can all do is to work hard and live within our means,” the Nigerian leader who seeks a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) said.
His call did not go down with Nigerians with majority urging him to retire from piloting the affairs of the country.
A twitter user, named Gracious, was quick to ask the president if his son, Yusuf Buhari, is living within his means.
“Is Yusuf Buhari living within his means?” the micro-site user asked the president in response to the latter’s call for hard work.
Mr Yusuf was involved in a bike accident which occurred September last year. He was admitted into the Cedarcrest Hospital, thereafter the president’s son was flown abroad to continue treatment.
He was rumored to have bought the BMW bike he had accident with for $157,000 (N56million), though not verified by POLITICS TIMES.
Some Nigerians were asking where the president’s son who is currently doing his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) got the huge amount to purchase a bike when his father couldn’t muster the financial strength to purchase his party’s presidential form for the 2015 election which cost N27million at that time.
On his call for hard work, POLITICS TIMES brings you some reactions from Nigerians below.
We are very lazy to work hard since our president isn't any good himself, better respect your old age and step down……

We have seen how you have worked so hard with fake WASC certificate to get into Nigerian Army and since then have done nothing in life except enjoying free money from govt as unmerited salary and retirement benefit.
Hypocritical advice from Mr "integrity"?— Chris Egesi (@EmyEgesi) February 14, 2019
I wish you know how you makes our life uncomfortable. The only important thing and the mistake we realize is voting you in as our president at that time. Never again

Really? And the government can't afford 30,000 As minimum wage. Imagine a breadwinner earning 30k. Transport, school fees, feeding, shelter, books. Please say something else

Your incompetence has destroyed millions of means
Now you ask those without to live within their means
Do you truly understand what it means to live within means
How have you helped the govt we trusted you with live within its means?
You borrowed more and did less. #RejectBuhari— Josh King (@royaljosh) February 14, 2019
There is no means to even live within… Abeg come and be going, we don tire for you

Do you live within your means???
— Akinrelere Toyosi (@sizzlingcold) February 14, 2019
Have u noticed how often the buhari admin abuses the concept of “living within your means”? People are dying and hunger is everywhere. Businesses are shutting down, no inflow of FDI. Ppl r already living far way below means in a ruthless austerity sir. In case u haven't noticed.

"Every body wants to be comfortable but The most comfortable thing we can do is to work and live within our means"… this is the only reasonable speech I heard from you in 4yrs. Thank you o, we would use it in the next govt…

How can we work when all the jobs are gone?? People losing jobs everyday. I just walked into Ecobank now to do a transaction asked for a lady I was familiar with just to be told she's been laid off? What happened? They said no job again. I just remembered my pvc.
