The Nigerian Senate has pardoned Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi whom it suspended for alleging N3.7trn padding of the 2024 budget.
Mr Ningi was also recalled after his colleague, deputy minority leader, Senator Abba Moro, who moved the motion, expressed regrets on his behalf, acknowledging the gravity of the allegation.
Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, announced the lifting of the controversial suspension on Tuesday during plenary after lawmakers’ pleas.
His recall comes about two weeks to the end of his three-month suspension which is supposed to elapse on June 12, 2024.
