Security has improved since I became president – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu says the worsening security situation in the country has improved since he became Nigeria’s leader.

Mr Tinubu, who took over power last year May 29, made the claim in his first new year broadcast to Nigerians.

He also said his administration has silently freed those abducted by kidnappers.

“Since our administration took over the mantle of office, security has improved,” he claimed. “Silently, we have worked to free captives from abductors.

“While we can’t beat our chest yet that we had solved all the security problems, we are working hard to ensure that we all have peace of mind in our homes, places of work and on the roads,” he added.

His claim comes days after gun-wielding and blood-curling men attacked communities in Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi local government areas of Plateau State, killing about 200 residents, looting and setting homes ablaze.
