President Muhammadu Buhari will no longer embark on his planned medical trip to London on Friday, his spokesman, Garba Shehu, confirmed.
Mr Buhari was scheduled to go for medical checkup on Friday from Kenya after attending the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) in Nairobi but caused anxiety returned back to the country Friday afternoon.
After he returned some Nigerians opined that the president might still embark on the journey but wanted to return home first.
Speaking to Daily Trust Newspapers on the development, Mr Shehu gave no reason why it was aborted but said the date for the medical trip expected to last for two weeks was rescheduled.
He disclosed that the president’s trip has now been rescheduled to Sunday, March 6, 2023.
“No, he hasn’t shelved his trip to London,” the presidential spokesman told the national daily. “The plan is still there. He finished his business in Kenya and made an early return. The trip to London is Sunday.”
