The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate is still missing in the revised list of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the forthcoming Anambra governorship election on November 6.
This might not be unconnected to its factionalised camps and their candidate proclaiming themselves as authentic.
In the list published on Thursday, a former central bank governor, Chukwuma Soludo, who earlier faced similar scenario was penciled down as the candidate of the ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
The electoral body had earlier recognized Michael Umeoji, from another faction as the candidate of APGA but has now replaced him with Mr Soludo after an Appeal Court verdict in favour of the former apex bank chief.
The final list of candidates will be published on October 7, 2021, according to a statement by Festus Okoye, the commission’s commissioner for information and voter education.
