Oyebanji takes oath of office as Ekiti governor

Biodun Oyebanji, a former Secretary to the Ekiti Government has been sworn in as the new governor of the South-West state.

Mr Oyebanji took the oath of office on Sunday at an event organised in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, which was attended by a former governor of the state Ayodele Fayose, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

At the governorship election in the state in June, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate was declared winner of the exercise with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and the PDP trailing behind as second and third respectively.

He succeeds Kayode Fayemi in office.
