A police officer has been declared missing after gunmen ambushed him and two of his colleagues in Anambra State last week.
According to police spokesman in the state, Ikenga Toochukwu, the two officers were killed and their corpses set ablaze.
Mr Toochukwu in a statement on Sunday said the attack occurred on Thursday and the officers were able to fight their way out of the ambush and rescue two civilian drivers travelling with them.
“In the attack two police officers were killed and their bodies were burnt while one of the officers is still missing,” said the deputy superintendent of police.
