The workers in Ondo State are threatening to embark on industrial action over unpaid wages by the state government.
This was made known in a letter written to the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, informing him that he has up to next week Wednesday, July 15, to pay the wages or have them embark on strike.
They are said to be demanding for their leave bonuses and other entitlements pending over the years.
“We write to bring to your attention the already ‘gathered cloud’ of very serious impending Labour/Government face-off which will be the very first in the life of your administration as the elected Governor of Ondo State,” the epistle, signed by the state Chairman of Joint Negotiating Council (JNC), Oluwaniyi Fabunmi and the State Secretary, JNC, Kehinde Olomiye, partly read.
