The All Progressive Congress (APC) on Monday denied its legal adviser resigned membership of the ruling party as reported in some quarters.
The ruling party stated this in a statement by its spokesperson, Felix Morka, while reacting to the reported resignation of Daniel Bwala, a chieftain of party who resigned his membership on Sunday.
Mr Bwala announced his withdrawal on Twitter, Sunday evening, shortly after Bola Tinubu, candidate of the APC named a fellow Muslim and former Borno governor, Kashim Shettima, as his running mate for next year’s presidential election.
“Our attention has been drawn to a false and misleading report circulating on some media platforms that the National Legal Adviser of the APC has resigned,” the statement reads.
“Barr. Ahmad Usman El-Marzuq is, and remains, the National Legal Adviser of APC.
“Barr. Daniel Bwala was not the National Legal Adviser of the party as erroneous reported,” it clarified.
