People of Mburubu community in Nkanu East local government area of Enugu State on Wednesday formally presented to the state government for recognition a renowned estate expert, Ozor Engr Jerry Patrick Onuh: Onuokaibe as their Igwe-elect.
The Mburubu General Assembly presented the Igwe-elect to the Executive Chairman of Nkanu East, Hon. Okechukwu Sydney Edeh, In accordance with the state traditional rulers law, cap 151, revised law of Enugu State, 2004.
In a letter addressed to the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Chieftaincy Affairs, Enugu State, dated, January 5. 2024, the Council Chairman, formally presented Igwe-elect for further recognition.
The letter reads:
“We write to forward to your office, the Igwe-elect of Mburubu Community, Ozor Engr Jerry Patrick Onuh: Onuokaibe EZEDIORAMMA I) of Mburubu.
“The people of Mburubu Community formally, presented their Igwe-elect to Nkanu East Local Government Area on the 28th December, 2023.
“He was received by the Local Government Council Secretary, Mr. Emeka Nnamene who represented the Executive Chairman Hon. Okechukwu Edeh on the occasion with some council exco members in attendance.
“In a brief ceremony at the Council Headquarters Amagunze, the National Chairman Mburubu General Assembly, Arc. Chijioke Nwachukwu franked by his exco members and other members of the community presented Igwe-elect Ozo Jerry Patrick Onuokaibe to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Okechukwu Edeh.
“The ceremony attracted a large crowd from Mburubu Community, these included the National Chairman, Mburubu, General Assembly, Arc. Chijioke Nwachukwu, the Assembly National Secretary Obinna Okonkwo, Ozo Eze Philip Aniobi oldest man in Mburubu Emma Orji, Perm Sec. Patrick Onu, Mrs. Agness Orji and among others.
“Sir, we formally forward, Ozo Jerry Patrick Onuokaibe, (Ezedioramma I) of Mburubu, the Igwe-elect of Mburubu Community to your office in line with the law for further action/s. (We attached the communiqué from the Desk of Mburubu General Assembly submitted to the council on the day o presentation of the Igwe-elect).
“Accept our esteemed regards.”
Responding, the Igwe-elect, expressed joy and satisfaction with the peaceful manner the State governor conduct things in the State, stressing that the community were grateful for the honour.
He assured the state government of his unalloyed loyalty to foster peace and harmony in the community and State, promising that the community is ever ready to contribute to the peace already in the state.
Onuokaibe is an entrepreneur, a computer engineer, and the MD/CEO of First Choice Afro Villa, Mburubu Construction Company Ltd.
