A faction of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Edo State has adopted Osagie Ize-iyamu, as its governorship candidate.
Mr Ize-iyamu reportedly emerged the consensus candidate of the faction Tuesday night in Abuja, reports The Nation Newspapers.
He is to face the incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki, who is interested in a second term in office, for the direct primary of the party slated for June 22.
Mr Ize-iyamu is loyal to the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole, who has political battle with Mr Obaseki.
