Popular Islamic cleric, Sheik Ahmad Gumi, has reportedly met with kidnappers who abducted staff and students of Government Science College Kagara, Niger State.
Mr Gumi, according to TVC News, met with the criminals yesterday, an edited video clip with pictures of the meeting by the mainstream media showed.
No further details of the meeting was disclosed.
The abductees who are about 42 in numbers, including 27 students declared missing, are yet to be traced by troops dispatched by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The abductors, who killed a student during the operation, are yet to demand ransom in exchange for the victims in their custody, as at press time.
The cleric has been at the forefront demanding amnesty for the bandits who are largely herdsmen. He said they learnt the atrocious acts from Niger Delta militants.
