Darius Ishaku, the governor of Taraba State has been reelected for a second term in office.
Mr Ishaku is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a party that has been in charge of the state since 1999.
The governor polled 520,433 votes to trounced his close challenger, Sani Danladi of the All Progressive Congress (APC) who got 362,735 votes to come second.
Announcing the results from the 16 local government areas at the state capital, Jalingo, early Tuesday morning, Shehu Iya, the returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the election, said the PDP won in 12 LGAs while the APC took the remaining 4 LGAs.
Mr Iya, a professor at the Modibo Adama University, Yola, pronounced Mr Ishiaku, winner having satisfied the requirement of the law.
