I Came Into Office In 2005, Buhari Claims

President Muhammadu Buhari has said he came into office democratically in 2005.

Mr Buhari stated this on Tuesday while campaigning for votes in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

The president is seeking a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

“I assure you that we are conscious of the promise we made, when we came into office in 2005,” Buhari told Ekiti residents who graced his campaign rally.

His new claim is another blunder on his part since he flagged off his presidential campaign and it is fast becoming a trade mark.

The Nigerian leader invented the word ‘governotorial’, he used to described gubernatorial candidates of his party at different campaign rallies.

Buhari has also handed the party’s flag to someone entirely different from the recipient, and at another occasion claimed he came to office on May 19, 2015.

POLITICS TIMES recalls that the president was democratically elected the country’s leader in the 2015 presidential election.

He defeated Goodluck Jonathan, then incumbent president, to emerge victorious. It was also the first time an opposition candidate would defeat a sitting president in the country.
