Unknown gunmen reportedly stormed the National Institute of Construction Technology, in Uromi, Esan Northeast Local Government Area of Edo State late Wednesday.
According to The Nation Newspapers, an unspecified number of students and teachers were abducted during the operation.
Spokesman of the state police command, Bello Kontongs, a Superintendent of Police (SP), who confirmed the incident said he was awaiting further briefing from the commander of the force anti-kidnapping unit.
Rattled parents and guardians have besieged the institute in search of their children and wards.
