Rochas Okorocha, lawmaker representing Imo West at the Senate has been picked up by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The arrest was effected after over six hours of a siege at his Abuja house in Maitama where protesters besieged to halt the EFCC which accused the former Imo State governor of jumping the administrative bail it granted him.
The edifice at the compound of the presidential aspirant on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) had its doors pulled down in the operation that lasted for hours before he was arrested Tuesday evening.
Shortly after security operatives fired teargas to disperse protesters who did not want the ex-governor arrested, Mr Okorocha was whisked into a white Hilux vehicle by armed security operatives.
