Nasir El-rufai, incumbent governor of Kaduna State has been reelected for a second term in office.
Mr El-rufai, candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) defeated Isa Ashiru, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The governor, according to Muhammed Bello, the state collation officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) scored 1,045,427 votes to defeat Mr Ashiru who got 814,168 votes.
“That Nasir El-Rufai of the APC having satisfied the requirements of the law and having scored the highest number of votes is hereby returned and elected,” Mr Bello said on Monday.
There are twenty-three (23) local government areas which participated in the governorship election in the state on Saturday and in it the governor secured victory in fourteen (14) leaving the remaining nine (9) to the PDP candidate.
