Godwin Obaseki, the governor of Edo State, has formally dumped the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Mr Obaseki made this known on Tuesday at the presidential villa while briefing State House Correspondents.
The governor addressed the newsmen after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, saying he is going to pursue his second term ambition using another platform he refused to name.
He was disqualified from using the platform of the ruling party to seek re-election. He is rumored to be making plans of defecting to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
