Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, an aide to Kano State governor, Umar Ganduje, has been arrested by men of the State Security Service (SSS).
Mr Tanko-Yakasai was picked up Friday afternoon by the self-styled Department of State Services (DSS), hours after the governor’s aide berated President Muhammadu Buhari.
While reacting to the recent abduction of Zamfara schoolgirls, Mr Tanko-Yakasai, previously suspended for criticising the president, urged the Nigerian leader to either deal with terrorists decisively or step down from office.
Hours after he made the demand, his whereabouts became unknown until a spokesman attached to Kano State government confirmed his arrest.
