COVID-19: Confirmed cases rise to 42

Nigeria has recorded two new cases of Coronavirus disease currently on the rise in the country.

The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced the latest increase through its Twitter handle, Tuesday afternoon.

“2 new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria. 1 is in Lagos State & 1 in Ogun,” the tweet read.

“One case is a returning traveler. The second case is contact of a previously confirmed case.

“As at 1pm on March 24, there are 42 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria-2 discharged, 1 death,” it added.

The breakdown of cases by states in real time, shows Lagos leading with 29 cases, followed by Abuja with 7 cases, Ogun 3 cases while Ekiti, Oyo, Edo have one case each.
