The Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations, Abubakar Abdullahi, was reacting to reports that the military was setting up the settlement rejected across the country when President Muhammadu Buhari tried to implement the policy he said will address herders and farmers clashes.

The IGP calls on citizens in Anambra State to come out en masse and exercise their franchise as adequate security has been emplaced to protect them before, during and after the elections.

Although there are 18 contestants, the race is largely believed to be between the three candidates of the APC (Andy Uba), PDP (Valentine Ozigbo) and APGA (Chukwuma Soludo).

The warning was issued by Chika Edoziem, who heads the Directorate of Service (DoS) arm of the secessionist group while broadcasting on Radio Biafra on Saturday.

The lawmakers who claimed Mr Ikpeazu has done well in office described the rumour as a figment of the imagination of the purveyors.

Mr Soludo drove into the government house on Thursday during his inauguration ceremony in a black Innoson SUV.

Andy Uba of the All Progressive Congress (APC) trailed Mr Soludo with three votes out of the 140 votes at the polling unit that ended voting at about 7:20pm.

Since he assumed power in March, the state under him has witnessed heightened insecurity, especially during Monday's sit-at-home initially imposed by the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) which is still being complied with despite the separatist group calling off the exercise.

The incident comes a week after a member of the security outfit was trailed and murdered in Ezza local government area.
