Chairman of the PDP governorship primary election committee and Kaduna State PDP Chairman, Hassan Hyet, made the declaration at the conclusion of the exercise in Gusau.

The president took the decision two weeks after 17 state governors in Southern Nigeria banned open grazing in their domains, citing heightened insecurity from the age-long practice.

Since the return to democratic rule, the state has produced late Mohammed Lawal, Bukola Saraki, and Abdulfatah Ahmed as past governors.

The concluded exercise on Tuesday was monitored and attended by Festus Okoye, National Commissioner for Voter Education of the Commission, following the suspension of Hudu Yunusa, the embattled Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) who illegally announced Ms Binani as winner earlier.

Lalong said he officially tendered his resignation to President Bola Tinubu to enable him take his seat as the Senator Representing Plateau South Senatorial District.

Mr Baba said the development has thrown the community, said to be second largest after the state capital, into great mourning, panic and confusion.

He said the development was as a result of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP), a breakaway faction of Boko Haram chasing away their counterpart from the North-East zone.

Delivering judgment on Thursday, the apex court said the appeals were dismissed for grossly lacking in merit.
