Tinubu sworn in as Nigeria’s president

Bola Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos State, has been sworn in as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Mr Tinubu took the oath of office Monday morning at the inauguration ceremony held at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

He succeeds immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari, who has been lamenting of willing to exit office for leisures like his age mates.

Also, Kashim Shettima, who deputises the former Lagos governor, equally took oath of office as Vice President few minutes ago.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was notably absent at the event attended by former president Goodluck Jonathan.

Notable African leaders that attended the occasion are: Presidents of South Africa, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Burundi, Liberia, Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Central Africa Republic and Gabon.
