The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have reportedly suspended its months-long industrial action which begun earlier this year.
A source quoted by Punch Newspapers said the union took the decision at the end of its National Executive Council meeting which was held at the ASUU secretariat in Abuja late Thursday.
This is coming after the Court of Appeal ordered the body, which has been fighting for the funding of public tertiary institutions, to immediately return to the classrooms.
“Yes, it (strike) has been called off,” the source was quoted as saying, refusing to divulge more details and promised that the president of the academic body “will release an official circular in the morning (Friday).”
