Outgoing governor Willie Obiano has casted his vote at PU 004, Eri Primary School, Otuocha 1, Aguleri, Anambra East LGA.
His deputy, Nkem Okeke, has also exercised his franchise at Polling Unit 005 in Enugwu Ukwu Ward 3.
While Mr Obiano is backing candidate Charles Soludo of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Mr Okeke is backing Andy Uba, the flagbearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The governor commended electorates in his ward for conducting themselves in an orderly manner while his deputy expressed surprise at the turnout of voters in his ward.
There are 18 contestants but the race is largely believed to be between Mr Soludo, Mr Ubah and Valentine Ozigbo, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
