Senator Dino Melaye has again lost his bid to retain his Kogi West senatorial seat at the Senate.
Mr Melaye, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lost his appeal at the appellate court where he went to challenge the decision of the Kogi State National Assembly Election Tribunal which nullified his re-election to the red chamber in August.
The election of the opposition lawmaker is been challenged by Smart Adeyemi of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
Tweeting on Friday, the lawmaker informed the public that he has lost his case with an order by the appeal court that a fresh election be conducted.
“I just lost my election at the Appeal Court and Fresh election ordered,” Melaye said.
While thanking God for the journey so far, the lawmaker expressed hope to win again, asking his supporters to be law abiding.
“In all things I give God the Praise. He who started a good thing will definitely complete it. I ask my supporters to be law abiding as we shall always overcome. To God be the Glory,” he added.
