Abia State House of Assembly has refuted reported plans to impeach the state outgoing governor, Okezie Ikpeazu.
Addressing reporters after a meeting with the Abia helmsman on Saturday at the governor’s lodge, the members of the State House of Assembly led by the Deputy Speaker, Ifeanyi Uchendu dismissed the rumour.
The lawmakers who claimed Mr Ikpeazu has done well in office described the rumour as a figment of the imagination of the purveyors.
Lending his voice, the Minority Leader, Chukwu Chijioke, said there is no way such plans will go on without his knowledge and urged the people of the state to discountenance the rumour.
