2023: APC recognises group pushing for Osinbajo presidency

A group pushing for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to succeed his principal President Muhammadu Buhari in office has been recognized by the ruling party.

The Progressive Consolidation Group (PCG) in a statement on Sunday said it secured the “Letter of Recognition as Support Group” for the national leadership of the ruling party.

The pressure group said an Osinbajo presidency meant that “Committed party members and other patriotic citizens would remain even more assured under an offshoot of the Buhari/Osinbajo Presidency headed by Prof. Osinbajo.”

The PCG said its objective was “towards building a more formidable APC and a better Nigeria where the ideals espoused by both President Buhari and Prof. Osinbajo can be wholly sustained.”

Mr Osinbajo, like other presidential hopefuls in the ruling party, is yet to publicly declare interest in the presidential race scheduled to hold on February 18, 2023.
