Ejike Mbaka, the spiritual director of Adoration Ministry Enugu, has endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term in office.
Mr Mbaka, a Catholic cleric, made this known on Tuesday while delivering his new year speech at his ministry.
The priest had in 2015 predicted that Mr Buhari, who was then opposition presidential candidate of the All Progressive (APC) would defeated the then incumbent President, Goodluck Jonathan who sought re-election on the ticket of the then ruling Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).
Just as he predicted, the APC candidate halted the reign of the PDP which had held sway since the return to democracy in 1999.
Throwing his support behind the president, Mbaka said Mr Buhari was fighting corruption to a stand still and needs the support of Nigerians to keep the fight going.
He said the Catholic Church supports the fight against corruption and that was why she created ‘prayers against bribery and corruption’.
“A President that is fighting corruption needs to be supported”, Mbaka was quoted as saying by Sun Newspaper.
While calling on Nigerians to brace up for more difficult times in year 2019, the priest admonished Nigerians to pray in other to avert what he described as ‘impending unimaginable difficulty’ in the new year.
He reportedly said that the type of difficulty the country is going to face is such that has not been witnessed in its 58 years history.
