The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has given reason why its operatives attended the presidential primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) taking place in Abuja.
Operatives of the anti-graft agency were spotted at different axis of the event taking place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium with one searching a Ghana Must Go polythene bag, obviously thinking it had funds as its contents.
In a statement by its spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, the commission said its men were sent to monitor alleged monetary inducement of delegates expected to elect the party’s flag bearer for next year’s presidential election.
“Our operatives are at the ongoing PDP presidential primary elections at the MKO Abiola Stadium to monitor the exercise and, most especially, to check delegates inducement and other financial malpractices,” Mr Uwujaren was quoted by PUNCH to have said Saturday evening.
