Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State says the problems bedeviling the country are its leaders.
Mr Umahi made the assertion on Friday while receiving the report of Justice Elekwe Omaka-led judicial panel set up to investigate the violent clashes in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state which affected lives and properties.
“All over the country the problem we have been having is our leaders,” the governor stated. “We are leaders and we do not think deeply about God bringing us to lead the people and to know that in crisis of this nature, it is the less privileged, the old and widow that are killed.”
Receiving the report, Mr Umahi said his administration will carefully study and implement the recommendations contained therein.
He handed over the report to his deputy, Eric Igwe, whom he mandated to set up a small committee, comprising of legal experts drawn from the southern zone of the state, to study the report for effective implementation.
