Traders and hoodlums clashed at the Alaba International Market in Ojo, Lagos, Wednesday morning.
Multimedia reports show the two groups engaging in physical combat, with the hoodlums taking to their heels when the revolting traders outnumbered and overpowered them, according to a voice behind one of the video clips.
Sounds of gunshots were heard while the angry traders advanced towards a direction, wielding matchets, sticks, bottles and other kinds of deadly weapons.
Excessive taxation were reported as the root cause of the clash, although authorities are yet to confirm this as at press time.
