Bola Tinubu, former Lagos State governor says his Sunday visit to President Muhammadu Buhari was not about politics.
Mr Tinubu, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) visited the Nigerian leader at the presidential villa, Abuja on Sunday behind closed-door.
Addressing newsmen after the meeting, the politician who is speculated to be eyeing the top office distanced politics from what he discussed with Mr Buhari.
He said he came to thank the president for visiting him in London where he underwent a knee surgery.
“It’s only to thank the President, first of all, for his visit to my residence in London after the surgery and wishing me well, lifting my spirit and indeed, what an exceptional leader will do to collaborate,” the former governor said. “So, that’s what I came for and to welcome him back from the trip from Saudi.
“No politics, just courtesy call to thank him in a big way. That’s all.”
